Piet Hein Eek designed and carried out the farm restoration, which is a contemporary tribute to the old homestead. Food and beds, all under a single roof.
In this modern inn, the sunlight streams in through the roof, illuminating the long table made with wood from the sawmill further down the water, de Ee. Below, there’s a cosy restaurant, with lively chatter around the fire. Above, lovely rooms with enchanting views, where Omke Jan’s guests can spend the night.
Our province’s economy depends on the black and white Frisian cow, which is why she has a place of honour at Omke Jan. Her milk, butter and cheese are present everywhere in Omke Jan’s menu.
